Welcome to our NFS 4020 Wiki - Nutrition News or Noise?

What's a wiki?

A wiki is a living electronic collaboration whose purpose is the sharing of the creative process and product by many. One famous example is Wiki-pedia, an online encyclopedia with no “authors” but millions of contributors and editors. The word "wiki" comes from Hawaiian language, meaning "quick" or "fast."

Objective

The objective of our class wiki is to critically examine current nutrition-related news headlines using scientific evidence from credible and peer-reviewed sources.

Design

Our class Wiki will include eight pages defined by the topics below. These topics represent current hot or controversial topics in the field of nutrition. Please join one (and only one) group by adding your name to the author list following each topic. No group may have more than five people. Each group will be responsible for collaboratively creating a page in our class wiki on your assigned topic.

  1. Nutrition labels (A Perry, Alyssa Owen, Sydnie Halverson, Heidi Wengreen)
  2. Sodium and health (Sandra McCabe, Lindsay Cox)
  3. Diet and heart disease (Creighton Lewis, Zachary Benson, Ina Olsen, Emilee Johnson, Shaina Aullman, Heidi Wengreen)
